About This Role

Aunt Jenn's Early Learning Center is a licensed childcare center and preschool located in Kingston since 2010.

We are a provider for Kingston City School District's UPK program for 4-year-olds.

Aunt Jenn's is a play-based program, believing that children learn best through peer interaction.

• We are hiring a teacher for our Universal Pre-K (4) class for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.
• We're looking for a positive individual with a genuine love and passion for working with children.
• This is a 10-month position, with the work week being Monday-Friday.
• This class follows the KCSD calendar meaning you are not expected to work on days that are school holidays, or snow days/ cancellations, but will be expected to work superintendent conference days and half days.
• Ideal hours for this position are 8am to 3pm but can be slightly adjusted for the right candidate.
• Salaried position.

What You'll Do

Teachers have many responsibilities, including:

• Student Supervision: First and foremost, our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment.
• Lesson planning: Teachers design and assign tasks that align with learning objectives and the Creative Curriculum. These tasks should be meaningful, achievable, and challenging.
• Student participation: Teachers encourage students to participate in class.
• Assessments: Teachers will do annual assessments as determined by the KCSD
• Leadership: Teachers will guide their teaching assistants and other staff to maintain a successful balance of duties in the classroom.

Requirements

Must have experience working with pre-school aged children

Must pass a NYS background check

Must have a NYS teaching license
